About This Course

How galleries find artists & what gallerists are looking for. The Visiting Critic Program: International Gallery Edition offers in-depth feedback, exposure and connections with 4 respected art world professionals. Class is led online via Zoom by Rob Hult, Artist and Owner/Director of Klaus von Nichtssagend Gallery (NYC), in company with a strong group of artists from around the world.

Each Visiting Critic will introduce themselves with a brief presentation and Q+A. Next, artists in class present online slideshows of their artwork and prepare questions to receive feedback from Rob Hult, the Visiting Critic and peers. This program helps take one’s work, thinking and process in new and exciting directions.

The final class session will have a focus on transparency in the art world where the artists in the course and the faculty can openly discuss questions on all things communications, social media, out-reach, emails, logistics and even advice on their website etc. The course aims to provide formal & conceptual feedback from critics and faculty but also a look into the thinking and processes of art world professionals to help open doors and opportunities for artists.

Each class will be recorded for artists to review discussions and presentations; in addition the chat will always be saved for those wanting to review notes from their critique or presentation.
