Canopy 2.0 Program Overview

Three Mentors and Two Semesters
Work with a Fall Mentor and a Spring Mentor, each for a full semester, meeting 1-on-1 and in groups, for in-depth, consistent guidance. Meet with an additional Panel Mentor who will provide 1-on-1 and panel feeback.
Space Between Meetings
2.0 was designed with more time between semesters and meetings for artists to reflect on discussion, dive into suggested readings, self-organize with peers, and have valuable studio time to respond to feedback.
Seminar and Discussion
Spring will begin with two weeks of seminar focus - reading, debating, watching movies, and talking about art at large in a casual way with Cohort and Spring Mentor.
Additional Faculty
10 Guest Speakers and Critics over the course of 18 meetings. Based on Canopy 2.0 Cohort's interests and needs, faculty will curate guest artists and gallerists to touch on specific subjects and techniques.
Group Critique
Artist will review work with an intimate cohort of 10 artist peers, a Fall Mentor, and visiting critics.
1-on-1s
First semester: 1-on-1 office hours with Panel Mentor.
Second semester: 1-on-1 critique with Spring Mentor.
Writing Workshop
A spring writing workshop that will help artists develop language that they can use to talk about their work and in their artist statements.
Panel Review
The final semester of Canopy 2.0 will culminate in a Panel Review for each cohort. The panel will consist of your 2nd Semester Mentor, your 1st Semester Mentor or a Canopy Faculty, and an invited esteemed Visiting Critic!
