About the course:
This online course will combine focused critiques with a deep dive into painting specific techniques and materials. Artists will present their work twice to the group and to Caitlin MacBride, in order to receive feedback, context and research based prompts.
This course is perfect for those looking to focus more on paint as a material. In class, there will be demos to learn about creating limited palettes, paint application, and tricks of the trade that help with surface preparation and tailoring your tools to your own painting practice.
Critique classes will be interspersed with demo classes focused on painting techniques and materials.
Please note: Artists in this course should be prepared to have an array of paint colors (oil or acrylic) and be prepared to spend $50-$75 on additional materials. Caitlin will provide a list of recommended materials before the class starts.
Artists in this course will:
Will come away with a variety of new technical painting skills and more confidence to explore
