Drawing into Painting
This course focuses on drawing exercises together in the classroom that will connect to assignments to be completed in the studio. Various approaches will be explored including drawing on found surfaces, drawing from digital images and incorporating automatism. We will see each approach through in a methodical way to use drawing to inform painting.
In this course, artists will:
Participate in a pop-up exhibition in Chelsea, NY at the end of this course.
take their drawing practice and connect it more thoroughly to painting
build on work made via drawing and painting
will learn about artists from history who use drawing to inform their painting
participate in a pop-up exhibition in Chelsea, NY.
