Advanced Painting Materials and Techniques

This is the perfect online course for artists looking to take their painting and print materials in new and exciting directions. Artists in this class will learn about new advancements in professional painting materials and techniques in talks, exchanges and demos to adopt into their practice. Each class artists will learn from talks and/or material demonstrations followed by suggested prompts for artists to try. There will be demos and talks on the following: Making speedball Gel Plate Monotypes, Ideal Surfaces and Bars, Mulling Watercolor paint from scratch, Guerra Acrylic Paint, Kremer Pigment and Oil paint. The last class artists will share what they have learned from the course and/or what they have used and made because of the class in a new way.

Artists will learn:

• how to create an ideal surface, 

• how to make watercolor paint easily, 

• new technological advancements and problem solving in acrylic paint, 

• oil paint and surfaces.

• how to speedball gel plate print in various ways which allows for professional looking monotypes made at home without a press. 

• Artists will only be required to purchase what they choose to try out.
